Hello, everyone.
There will be no release today, on account of cooking and dinnering and such, so I will instead regale you with a brief retrospective.
Whatever the Mangaupdates date says, I started this project on August 31st, in a small lull between whatever it was I did in the summer and classes starting back up again. As such, the project has been running for just about four months, in which we've released 44 chapters, an average of 11 chapters per month. At that pace it would take another 27 months to complete the entire translation, and by the end of 2015 we would be roughly halfway through the whole series.
That figure is of course only as reliable as April weather. Four chapters were completed in September, nine in October as I was getting used to the process, fourteen in November as I switched tools, and sixteen in December as Fraustarrow joined the team. Such an upward trend is of course unlikely to continue, as the translation largely depends on excess spare time, which I am hoping to have less of in the coming months. Nevertheless, I still want to see what happens, and so I will still continue translating.
Over the past four months I've also seen the project grow far bigger than I ever expected. I was going to casually translate a few chapters and see if anyone wanted to have a look as I went on. Now there's a thriving readership, a forum, and a blog with 90k views in just a few weeks. There's also a second translator and a squad of editors that appear to want to remain nameless.
I've enjoyed the development of the story in the past four months, and I'm pretty sure you have too. The future is as uncertain as always, but whenever your new year's celebrations come around, raise a quiet toast for continued reading in the next year.
Happy New Year,
-Bagelson
