Chapter 37 part 2 - The power of Blue Silver Grass

View previous topic View next topic Go down  Message [Page 1 of 1]

Wrapped up the second part quickly since it's pretty short and I still have a little time before I have to catch a bus.

I'm getting the impression Blue Silver Grass is becoming increasingly like a torture tool. It started off just being able to bind people with a bit of paralysing poison. Then it got thorns and neurological pain induction. Now it's got acid.

Imagine being tied up by that thing, the vines themselves slowly eating through your skin, the thorns piercing you and injecting acid and poison into your blood.

There's a minor cliff hanger before we get to see what his third spirit ability can do, but we know it's somehow related to spider webs. He's also picked a spot between two trees, perhaps he can string up a web of grass between them?

Are you taunting us or do you really not know? I think its the same ability as the spider had, maybe just not shout out of his mouth, that doesn't seem to fit the way a grass spirit should work.

I think his third ability will allow him to weave a poisonous/venomous web instantaneous at a position of his will.
And if you think about it, he could do that even before, only manualy weaving his gras. He just didn't do it, because it would be too tedious and time consuming.

I actually don't know. I haven't read the next part yet.

He did make a recovery cocoon. If that wasn't a spirit ability he is too OP as it would be totally random to have that for only when he is asleep.

I agree with the web hypothesis.  I feel that it was too large a nature of the Man Faced Spider to not be incorporated into the spirit ring. I believe whatever the legs are will become the bonus ability from the tyranical absorbtion.

By the way, am i the only one that thinks Tang San new abilities and power are kind of "crippling" to himself too?
I mean he pretty much can't spar anymore with anybody but teachers because he'd torture to death anything he grips with Blue Grass...pretty OP in arena tough

I think its more like a net cannon and judging from the ending to the last part I think it'll shoot from his hand. The spider kind of hunts instead of making webs and sitting still. I cant remember the exact chapter but the spider could shoot webs 3 times a day from its mouth to catch things in. he already has a trap ability and making a web appear would be  a downgrade to his 2nd ring's ability. As good as his abilities have been they are a bit too defensive. Fighting someone in the ring without showing the world his hidden weapons would be difficult without a more offensive ability.

You're right on this, Vampi. But if his gras is as poisonous/venomous as i fear, then he doesn't realy need any weapons for fights in his Spirit-Ring range(lvl. 31-40). After binding them, he just chokes them to death, while pricking them all over their body with thorny vines after melting their clothes with the spiders corosive poisonxD  and injecting potent poison into their bloodstreams ^^

-Tang San acquired Dick move: Melting clothing on enemys and womans xD   Ecchi boy Tang San xD

Hopefully he is able to control the level of poison with his spirit power, however I do not really see that many spars being necessary with other students/peers considering they have to go through the arena to graduate.

He already revealed Blue Silver Undressing on Meng Yiran, this just brings it to another level.

I'm kind of tempted to Make a new topic about this but its kind of on topic since the whole chapter is about his abilities.

The thing about his poison is it's never really been completely effective except when he fought the kid in beginner spirit academy. When he fought the hammer bro's it kind of worked but they were still able to launch their hammers. We'll probably see when he goes to the arena next and based on chapter titles, it doesn't look like that will be until after this volume. I dont know about you but I want Tang San to face some people stronger than 1-2 levels above him.

Tang San is now freshly 31 or so i hope and i think, if he goes now into the arena, he gets lvl.39 to 40 opponents. Higher is not allowed in the rankings Sad

That should be enough of a gap in a 1on1 to give him some trouble and make the fight last longer than 1 chapter. Even more so, if he and Xiau Wu (and maybe Oscar+Dai) are in the team fight.

I really don't think Oscar has much hope for any solo or paired fights. Oscar is a talented spirit master but he would drag down Dai in a team fight, he could just give Dai sausages before the match and be just as effective, if they were in a 2v2 fight Dai would be overwhelmed and would have to cover for Oscar who can barely defend himself. I think Oscar could be alright in a bigger team fight but he really could help more by giving them sausages and staying out of it. Dai, Tang, Xao Wu and Ning would make a very powerful team and could probably cover for the other weaker 3 team members in a 7v7 team fight. Although I would assume the author would make it so everyone can pull their own weight. As a side note, I believe they said the team matches were death matches; I want to see a fight where all 7 of them just use deadly crossbows and wipe the other team out in an instant .

Btw I was talking about Tang San vs upper 30's not above 40's before.

i know. But i wanna see him wiping the floor with a 40+ guy xD  Imagine Tang paralyzing that guy, taking him with his gras at the ankles and just smashing him from one side of the arena to the other What a Face  Or something like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9izkSVCXbjU  This is german language, but should give a general gist of it ^^

Right, I think the strength of auxiliary spirit spirits lies in its widespread effect. Nina's current two-ring power level lets her power up a teammate by 20%. So if it's in a doubles battle, her side is fighting with only 1.2 worth of battle spirits compared to a battle spirit duo with a full 2 battle spirit worth of power. But in a large scale war, a single 20% boost means a 10 man regiment is now worth 12 normal people, and a 100 man group gets an extra 20 solider boost.

You mean 30%.

I have tomorrow off, so if I don't manage to finish the chapter today, I'll do it tomorrow. Unless I actually get around to finishing the cleaning and christmas shopping I have to do.

Actually it's a bigger deal than you think. 1 person at 130% strength might be stronger than 2 people at the same level without the boost. On the other hand in a 2vs2 having to be protected does overall weaken the boosted persons abilities to fight. Although in a team fight (more than 2) her ability is much more potent. In a 7vs7 she might make up for the weakness of the members below 30.

Your dedication and speed are really something else. As someone who translates both as a hobby and half-professionally, I have to express my admiration for that. Of course, I'd never release anything that isn't fully edited and quality checked first, but still, I could never get close to your speed with a language I'm not fully proficient with.
