Aww, how cute, 12-year-olds getting embarrassed over bodily contact... Oh wait, mentally Tang San is supposed to be well over 30. Suddenly this turned kinda creepy, is he a lolicon or something?

It's been mentioned before that he doesn't have any experience of that. The thirty years of his past life was spent in a cloister. He is, for all intents and purposes, 12 years old in any matters outside of hidden weapons.

Tang San is pure. They're growing together.

Is Xiao Wu really only 12? Her past is a mystery and she can create spirit rings. She knows atleast one Titan Giant Ape and another spirit beast that is apparently even stronger.

Someone in this forum said Xiao Wu might be sealing her strength and slowly releasing her strength as Tang San grows, does this also pertain to her age? Does she only grow older with the growth of her strength?

I don't think all the blame should fall on Tang San. If Xiao Wu is mentally older than she says, she's also perving on a boy with a 12 year old body!

I'm starting to see the "devil" in Grandmaster... Was he also this strict with Tang San's training earlier, I wonder?

Each time I read them training in chapter 41, I keep thinking of the mulan song "be a man".

This must be the least exciting chapter in a while. Must be cuz there are quite a few things I'm eagerly waiting to read about in coming chapters.

It seems to be some interlude chapter detailing just how meticulous Grandmaster's training is.

1. Chapter 42-2, whats the deal with the casks? By definition they are usually filled with wine...but why would each person  have their own wine cask? Based on the context it seems to be something you defecate in? So my question is what is this cask tan san has to empty out for the girls

2. Who beat up Wuji after he picked on tan san? Was it Tan San's father? Or was it the business man that tan san bought the golden needle gem stone from? Who is the fat merchant tan san got the gem from, is it flender? ....That chapter was confusing to read.

and yes it was tang sans father, and yes, it was clearly said that flender was recognized as the old man who sold tang san the gem...

@ptsome also.... a cask 'by definition' is not a wine cask but a barrel. quote from dictionary: "A sturdy cylindrical container for storing liquids; a barrel"

I have a feeling that things will take the worst turn as Tang San feared. Can't wait for more action too.

Hrm, yeah. Looks like Tang San is going to have to kill a few people. And one roasted chicken. I wonder if they're going to be stupid enough to attack Xiao Wu, or if they'll go after Fatty first.
Either way, when Tang San is done with them, the world will be a better place~

They are stronger than what he reliably can defeat, he himself put the limit on what some of his strongest trumps can defeat as 40-49 spirit elders.

Arguably true, today. It's going to take roasted chicken pedophile many months to heal though. And the other pedo's will probably wait til he heals to attack. By then, Tang San and Xiao Wu at the least will be at a new level. Also, we haven't seen his external spirit bone in action. If its just about winning, then that's hard to say because of the handicap he would have. But if it is killing, I think it is within Tang San's abilities even now.

Oh god, the impending strange uncles is bad news. I hope nothing bad happens to the girls. I do, however, want to see Tang San seriously dismantle them. Hopefully, the shrek seven devils will have grown by the time they confront those strange uncles.

I'm not too worried about it since the roastduck pedo  only knows of Xiao Wu and Fatty.
Fatty is obviously the one who roasted him, but even if he went after Xiao Wu first, she should be able to get away with her teleport power.
I think Fatty is the only one in real danger. But he asked for it.
Don't get me wrong, roastduck pedo deserved it. But you don't do that to someone and leave them alive.
If Tang San knew what Fatty did, I think he would have gone back and killed him regardless of what Dai said.
I think we're good for now though. It should be quite a while before roastduck pedo heals and they can plan revenge.

I don't really understand how they can fight as such a large team in the Spirit Arena. 7 soon-to-be Spirit Elders would have to be rare, and there needs to be 7-10 people who can fight on level with them. The numbers are thrown around, like 1 in 10,000, but what is the actual population size? Also, I think there is a really good chance that roastchicken pedo is the control type fighter for a group that the Shrek Seven fight in the arena.

I can't wait for the kids to start getting older. I find that collecting spirit rings have been the most exciting parts, yet somewhat lackluster when finding the perfect spirit almost instantly. I also look forward to whatever romances may develop.

Theirs is the 4th fight that day, since none can fight twice in the same category we know that there are at least 8 groups.
If we consider a default group size as 7 (idk if it was said at any point) then it means 56 spirit masters of 30~39th rank. I don't think that's hard.
Even more if they have the custom of recruiting promising members inside the arena instead of beforehand.
Consider too the age gap, there are 3 grandpas and the woman was supposed to be in her mid-twenties. So in 3 generations I don't think that it'd be hard to have 56 spirit masters of 30~39th rank.

Remember that there were lots of students of 20th-or-so rank that were around 13 y/o trying to get into Shrek Academy, some of them would eventually reach 30th rank.

Yeah. I had the same thought as Deep, but went with the same reasoning as David.
It's still seems a little odd to have so many gathered in one place given how rare they are suppose to be according to the author, lol.
But then, It depends on your surroundings I think. You usually don't see clowns walking down the street. But if you go to a circus you'll see more clowns in one place than you ever thought existed in the whole world. *shrugs*
I imagine this is especially true for people over rank 40 since, if memory serves, after level 40 you no longer receive the monthly stipend.
Battling in the ring would be an easy way to make money if you continued to win.

Spirit Masters of rank 30 receive if they win once 10g that is 1/10 of what they get in a month, that isn't little, if over 40th rank they have no money from the state and the winnings grow instead it's extremely easy to see Masters fight for it.

If you think of the monetary issue then any smart spirit master that aims to get over 40th rank will go to the arenas earlier to get fighting experience.
Maybe even those that don't think they'll go over 40th will still go, because battle experience will always be good, right?

Yep. There is one thing I'm unsure of though.

If I remember, the cost of the matches is 10 gold, and the reward for winning is 10 gold.
Is it just that you pay the 10g for registration(badge), or you pay that for every match?
I've been under the impression you paid it every match, but that never seemed right to me so I just ignored it so far.

Yeah, they just had to pay 10g for the registration, then had to pay again for a name change. They do not have to pay every match.

Hrm. Looks like we might get to see Tang San kick some butt next chapter.
He has refilled a lot of his spirit power, and they should be unable to use it. But I don't think they'll give up.
